About this library
Start Journey is a free resource library for anyone who wants to start something — a business, a book, a new skill — but doesn't know where to begin.
Most instruction on the internet assumes you already know the basics. It's written for people who are halfway there. Start Journey is written for people who are starting from zero.
Every guide here is written in plain language, broken into clear steps, and free to use without creating an account. You can print any guide and work through it offline. There are no ads and no upsells.

How guides are written
Each guide follows the same format: a short introduction, numbered steps, plain-language explanations, notes on free tools, and a clear endpoint. Steps can be checked off as you go, and progress is saved in your browser so you can come back where you left off.
Every guide is print-friendly. Click "Print this guide" on any guide page for a clean printed version with no sidebars or checkboxes.
Where we're based
Start Journey was created in Flagstaff, Arizona. Where local resources are relevant — Coconino County offices, Flagstaff-area banks, local bookstores — we include them. But the guides are written to be useful anywhere.
